Casey's Shadow is a 1978 American drama film directed by Martin Ritt which was released on March 17, 1978 by Columbia Pictures.

It is based on John McPhee's 1974 story in The New Yorker magazine called "Ruidoso",

Plot[]

Casey Bourdelle (Michael Hershewe) is a young boy in a family that trains racehorses. His best friend, a foal that they call "Casey's Shadow", looks to be a loser, but comes out a champion.
